Tesco Expands Operations in Karnataka: New Distribution Centre to Create 15,000 Jobs

In a significant boost to Karnataka’s economy, supermarket giant Tesco has announced plans to expand its presence in the state. During a recent roadshow conducted by the Karnataka industries department in London, Tesco revealed its intention to open a new distribution center in Hoskote. This center is expected to generate 15,000 jobs for the local community.

In addition to the distribution center, Tesco plans to hire 1,500 additional employees and expand its operations with a new building in Bengaluru. The announcement underscores the strong confidence Tesco has in Karnataka’s business ecosystem and the support provided by the state government.

Industries minister MB Patil and department officials engaged with several global companies during the roadshow, including Rolls Royce and Magellan Aerospace. Rolls Royce expressed interest in investing in Karnataka, highlighting the state’s strategic role in their future India investment plans.

The state’s attractive incentives and ease of doing business were well-received by the leadership of these global firms. As Karnataka prepares for the Invest Karnataka 2025 event, the state continues to position itself as a prime destination for international investments.
